SCAI Welcomes New Class of Emerging Leader Mentorship (ELM) Program Participants | SCAI

MONTREAL—The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI) is pleased to announce the selection of a new class of early-career interventional cardiologists to participate in the 2026–28 Emerging Leader Mentorship (ELM) Program. Participants will be recognized during the SCAI 2026 Scientific Sessions & CAIC-ACCI Summit, held April 23–25 in Montréal, Canada.

The ELM Fellows program is a two-year training and mentorship program designed to help participants enhance their skills and prepare for leadership positions in medicine. The program is offered in collaboration with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF).

The ELM Selection Committee chose 12 individuals based on their leadership potential and motivation to excel regionally and nationally in the fields of clinical care, scholarship, education, and/or advocacy. The 2026–28 ELM class includes:

ELM training provides structured mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities for professional growth across multiple aspects of interventional cardiology. Participants work closely with experienced mentors, engage in SCAI activities, and develop skills in communication, collaboration, and strategic leadership while expanding their professional networks.

“Field-wide leadership in interventional cardiology rarely happens by accident. Formalized mentorship and sponsorship, and a collaborative spirit, are vital components to shaping the next generation of leaders. ELM provides the guidance, experience, and professional relationships needed to help participants grow as physicians and as leaders,” said SCAI President Srihari S. Naidu, MD, MSCAI, who founded the SCAI ELM Program, in partnership with the CRF and ACC. “By investing in leadership development, SCAI helps ensure that the next generation is prepared to advance the field, strengthen our Society and partnering organizations, and continue the tradition of mentorship that defines our specialty.”

Applications for the 2028-2030 program will open in Fall 2027.
