You have probably heard that the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule includes the first positive conversion factor increase in years. But what you may not be aware of is that in the rule there is also a 2.5% cut to all procedures. CMS is calling it an “efficiency adjustment,” and it arbitrarily reduces the work RVU and intraservice time to all non-time-based services by 2.5%. This includes recently re-valued services, even those re-valued in this rule.

Do not let CMS randomly reduce procedure reimbursement. Take action by sending in comments and making your voice heard.
