SCAI Supports the Re-introduction of the REDI Act | SCAI

On March 11, 2025, Congressman Brian Babin (R-TX-36), Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA-6), and Senators Jackie Rosen (D-NV) and John Boozman (R-AR)  re-introduced the Resident Education Deferred Interest Act (REDI Act, H.R. 2028, S.942). This act helps to address the nationwide shortage of doctors by making the cost of medical education more affordable. The bill would enable residents to save thousands of dollars in accrued interest as well as make it easier for doctors to practice in rural areas.

SCAI strongly supports this important piece of legislation and looks forward to working with Reps. Babin, Houlahan, Rosen and Boozman, as well as over 40 additional medical associations and societies to enact this into law.
