SCAI Supports the Passage of the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act | SCAI

On January 30, 2026, as part of the larger appropriations bill H.R. 7148 that passed the US House and the US Senate and which is expected to be signed into law shortly, is H.R 929—the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act. SCAI strongly supports the inclusion of this bill.

The Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act will continue to promote the mental health and wellness of medical professionals, including interventional cardiologists.

It will help to continue ensuring that medical professionals receive education and promote awareness initiatives encouraging the use of mental health and substance use disorder services.

By reducing the stigma associated with medical professionals getting the mental health care that they need, it helps to ensure that they are in the best possible way to continue providing care for all of their patients.
