On December 15, CMS initiated a reconsideration of its national coverage analysis for TAVR. This opened a 30-day comment period where CMS requested clinical studies and other scientific information to inform their decisions regarding changes to the existing National Coverage Determination. CMS has stated their proposed decision memo should be released by 6/15/2026.
In collaboration with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), American College of Cardiology (ACC), the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA), and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), SCAI has submitted comments. SCAI will await the proposed decision memo and respond accordingly.
