SCAI Backs Re-Introduction of Prior Authorization Reform Bill

SCAI has sent a letter of support for the Reducing Medically Unnecessary Delays in Care Act of 2025 (H.R. 2433), following Rep. Greg Murphy’s request to be recognized as the bill’s first sponsor.
 

The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) has issued a formal letter of support backing the re-introduction of the Reducing Medically Unnecessary Delays in Care Act of 2025 (H.R. 2433). On February 4, 2026, Rep. Greg Murphy, MD, requested unanimous consent to be recognized as the bill’s first sponsor, marking a renewed push in Congress to reform prior authorization practices and reduce care delays for patients.
