“The Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act, (HR 2474) was introduced on April 6th, 2023. The bill sponsored by Reps. Ruiz, MD (D-Calif.), Bucshon, MD (R-Ind.), Bera, MD (D-Calif.), and Miller-Meeks, MD (R-Iowa). The legislation would add a permanent, Medical Economic Index (MEI) based inflationary update to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The bill will go a long way toward providing the stability SCAI has been asking for from lawmakers on a bipartisan basis.
