Said Ashraf, MD, FSCAI | SCAI

Dr. Ashraf is an accomplished interventional cardiologist with specialized training in TAVR procedures. He completed his cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 2017 and his interventional cardiology fellowship at New York University Langone in 2021. Currently practicing at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in New Jersey, he also serves as an assistant professor of medicine at Rowan School of Medicine. 

His clinical interests encompass the critical treatment of acute myocardial infarction and cardiogenic shock, complex and high-risk coronary interventions, large bore access, and TAVR procedures. Demonstrating early leadership, Dr. Ashraf spearheaded the development of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) at AtlantiCare, which has rapidly grown into one of the busiest advanced acute pulmonary embolism treatment centers in South New Jersey, significantly improving care for this critical patient population. He is actively involved in resident and nursing training, quality improvement initiatives, and numerous research projects. As principal investigator for several clinical trials at his institution, Dr. Ashraf underscores his commitment to advancing the field through rigorous clinical research.

A dedicated member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), he actively contributes his expertise to multiple committees, aligning with SCAI's mission to advance interventional cardiology. His expertise has been recognized through faculty appointments at several prominent regional and international meetings, including CRT, ACC, SCAI, and CVI. He has contributed significantly to the medical literature with numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. In 2024, Dr. Ashraf was selected for the prestigious CRT Young Leadership Program, a testament to his future clinical and academic excellence in early career interventional cardiology. 

As an interventional and structural cardiologist in the early stages of his career, Dr. Ashraf is dedicated to staying at the forefront of cutting-edge treatments and ensuring their availability to the community he serves. His passion extends to preventative cardiology, and he volunteers his time to promote heart health awareness. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the world through travel, running, and playing squash.
