Dr. Anderson is Professor Emeritus in the Cardiology Division at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and a Medical Director for Quality and Performance Measures in the Larry D. Johnson Heart & Vascular Institute of Memorial Hermann Hospital. His interests include acute coronary syndromes and ischemic heart disease, as well as quality of care and clinical outcomes research in all cardiovascular interventions. For over 15 years, he has worked with health informatics, data interoperability, and artificial intelligence in medicine. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also undertook his cardiology and interventional fellowships. He has over 25 years of experience as an editor of major cardiovascular journals: 11 years as Associate Editor of Circulation (1993-2004), and 16 years as Associate Editor of JACC–Cardiovascular Interventions (2008-2024). Dr. Anderson was one of the founding members of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR), which includes some of the largest and most productive cardiovascular databases in the world.
