Ankur Kalra, MD, MSc, is Division Chief of Cardiology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, and an interventional cardiologist with a national reputation in cardiovascular outcomes research. He has led clinical investigations across multiple institutions, with prior roles as medical director of clinical research for regional cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and as a primary investigator at the Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center. He has delivered late-breaking science at major cardiology meetings and published more than 325 peer-reviewed manuscripts. In addition to his academic appointment, he is the director of the Barry J. Maron Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center in New Delhi and the creative director and founder of makeadent.org, a non-profit dedicated to advancing global cardiovascular health.

Dr. Kalra’s clinical focus is complex coronary and structural interventions, with his research centered on cardiovascular outcomes and big-data analytics. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and a Diplomate in Adult Comprehensive echocardiography. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science degree in Health Economics, Outcomes and Management from the London School of Economics, complemented by training in patient safety, healthcare quality, health informatics and leadership from Harvard Medical School’s 1-year Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership certification program. In 2026, Dr. Kalra was the recipient of the SCAI-Edwards Lifesciences Early Career Research Grant for his project, "Life Expectancy After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: Analysis of the STS/ACC TVT Registry."
