Call to Service | SCAI

Call to Service

Through its Call for Leadership, SCAI invites members to serve on the Board of Trustees, councils, and committees, contributing expertise and perspective. Members committed to collaboration, excellence, and service are encouraged to apply or nominate colleagues. Whether seasoned leaders or those expanding involvement, leadership service offers a meaningful way to shape the Society’s direction and support the interventional cardiology community.

SCAI Call to Service 2026

SCAI succeeds as an organization because of our members' commitment, support, and hard work.

Applications for the 2026 Call to Service have now closed. If you have any questions about your application's status, please contact Brian Pedersen, Assistant Director, Governance & Strategy.

Results of the selection process will be announced in April 2026.

SCAI's Leadership

SCAI's Board of Trustees is responsible for furthering SCAI's mission and setting its long-term priorities and goals. The Board establishes and oversees the strategic plan and all related activities. The Executive Committee is a subset of the SCAI Board of Trustees. It provides executive direction in between Board meetings.

Open Positions 2026:

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer-Elect
  • Board of Trustees (Two Members-at-Large)
  • Governance Committee (Two Positions, One At-Large, One Congenital)

Note: SCAI’s Governance Committee annually assesses the current Board of Trustees to both ensure the Board is representative of SCAI membership and is well positioned to achieve SCAI’s goals.  Additionally, the Governance Committee evaluates nominations with consideration to desired Board composition and competencies. Congenital specialists and International FSCAI are strongly encouraged to apply.

Council and Committee Positions

Committees and councils play an integral role in SCAI fulfilling its mission and implementing its strategic plan. SCAI has committees that cover education, publications, government relations, communications, membership, and international activities, among others. Councils focus on clinical interest areas and provide insight to further the education, advocacy, and information exchange for the community. See below for further information about SCAI's Councils and Committees.

Member Highlight

I joined SCAI at first because it was the organization that represented Interventional Cardiology. I stayed at SCAI because of all the value membership brought to my clinical and leadership growth, including: case reviews, step-by-step technique workshops, quality improvement protocols, and critical synthesis of the data in a didactic format readily available to my entire cath lab team (physician colleagues, fellows, nurses, CVTs) through the online learning center and during in-person SCAI meetings; ready access to a community of women in interventional cardiology through the WIN committee; and opportunities to participate in the process via a committee/council meeting structure that allows anyone to attend and contribute.
