Wally Omar, MD, FSCAI | SCAI

Wally Omar is the director of structural heart interventions at Northwell Health and an assistant professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. His clinical interests are in valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, vascular disease, adult congenital heart disease, and mechanical circulatory support. He has a special interest in electrosurgery.

As a Harvard Clinical Research Institute faculty member, now known as the BAIM Institute, Dr. Omar has designed, executed and enrolled patients in large-scale multicenter clinical trials. During a clinical and research fellowship in structural heart interventions at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he was pivotal in executing similarly large, multicenter clinical trials to assess the latest innovations in transcatheter heart surgeries. 

Dr. Omar serves on the editorial board of several leading cardiovascular journals. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading cardiac journals, textbook chapters, and editorials. He is a sitting member of national cardiovascular societies and works with colleagues across the country to bring the latest innovations in cardiac procedures to his patients.
