Lauren Balkan, MD | SCAI

Dr. Lauren Balkan is currently an interventional cardiology fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an incoming advanced fellow in complex and high-risk interventional procedures and chronic total occlusions (CHIP/CTO) for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Originally from New York, she completed medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by an internal medicine residency at NewYork Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, where she served an additional year as chief resident. She subsequently moved to Boston for general and interventional cardiology fellowships at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Balkan looks forward to expanding her skills in managing complex coronary artery disease, both in and out of the cath lab, and is grateful for the support of the SCAI WIN CHIP fellowship.
