Dr. Kevin A. Friede, MD, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist, assistant professor of medicine, and member of the McAllister Heart Institute at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He specializes in catheter-based treatments for complex coronary artery disease, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary embolism, and peripheral artery disease.
Dr. Friede serves as an associate program director for UNC’s cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology fellowship programs. Additionally, he has research interests in pharmacogenomic strategies for antithrombotic therapy optimization. Dr. Friede serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research and the Scientific Oversight Committee of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions.
