Your cardiologist may refer you for an imaging study. There are a variety of advanced imaging technologies available today. These include echocardiogram, nuclear scan, computed tomography (CT) scan, positron emission tomography (PET) scan or magnetic resonance imaging test (MRI). One or more of these tests are usually combined with the ECG to provide images of the heart and often improve your doctor's ability to identify potential problems. Read more about these test by clicking the links below.
  • Imaging Technologies

    Computerized Tomographic Angiography (CTA)

This test, also called CTA or CT Angiography, uses x-rays and computers to create detailed images of the blood vessels and the blood flow within them.

    Duplex Ultrasound Test

An ultrasound test allows your physician to see blockages or narrowing in your blood vessels and determine the size of your kidneys.

    Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA)

An MRA uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce two- or three-dimensional images of the blood vessels.

    Radionuclide Scanning

A radionuclide scan of a kidney can produce an image showing changes in blood flow to the kidney and rates of removal of blood from the kidney.
