    • The Cleveland Clinic’s “Valve Disease Overview and Treatment Guide” is a free download that provides detailed descriptions and illustrations of specific types of valve repair.

    • Edwards Lifesciences, the manufacturer of the Sapien valve used for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), offers a site for patients with detailed information on treating aortic stenosis.

    • The American Heart Association offers a handy wallet card to carry with you that notifies emergency medical personnel that you have a heart condition that puts you at risk for a serious infection called endocarditis and that you need antibiotics prior to certain medical procedures.
