If your test results show one or more blockages in the arteries that supply blood to your heart muscle, your cardiologist will recommend that you undergo a procedure to restore the flow of blood. Depending on the severity and location of your blockages, he or she will recommend either an interventional procedure, such as balloon angioplasty and stenting, or bypass surgery.
