Even if you or your institution do not plan to submit an application, it is worth the effort to have access to the list of requirements for ACE accreditation.

At the very least, these resources can guide and complement your cath lab and PCI quality improvement process. At the very most, formal ACE accreditation is a powerful national affirmation that you and your institution maintain the highest standards of quality care for your patients. Carotid stent standards and accreditation are also available. In the future, health care reform may mandate some sort of formal external accreditation. Familiarity with the ACE program will help keep your options open.
