• SCAI Unbroken Hearts Patient Story Campaign Honored with PRSA Silver Anvil Award

    June 14, 2016

    Dear Members,

We are thrilled to announce that the SCAI Unbroken Hearts digital patient storytelling campaign was honored with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil award last week for Integrated Communications – Associations.

The PRSA Silver Anvil Award is seen as the most distinguished honor within the communications field, recognizing complete programs that incorporate sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. This remarkable achievement comes on the heels of news that Unbroken Hearts was bestowed a 2016 North America SABRE Award, which recognizes public awareness campaigns for superior achievement in branding, reputation and engagement.

Launched by SCAI in 2015, Unbroken Hearts is a public education initiative on behalf of our interventional cardiovascular specialty. Unbroken Hearts shares real stories of patients facing life-threatening or transformative heart conditions, using a digital and social media storytelling format. It describes how their conditions were successfully treated through fast action, innovation, and the incredible dedication of interventional cardiologists and cath lab teams.

In addition to the critical acclaim mentioned above, the campaign has reached 78 million people online and over 70 million via traditional media venues. It has also created more than 7.4 million social media impressions, helping the SecondsCount.org website to achieve more than 2.5 million visits in 2015.

A huge congrats to Drs. JP Reilly, Chandan Devireddy and Dennis Kim for championing this amazingly important campaign that truly exemplifies how SCAI members live out our vision to Save and Enhance Lives!

We encourage you to help us spread the word on how Interventional Cardiology is impacting our communities by sharing these important stories with your networks.

    Thank you,

    Kenneth Rosenfield, MD, MHCDS, MSCAI

    2016-17 SCAI President
