Application Procedures
Membership in SCAI is open to physicians and scientists who have become experts in the field of cardiac catheterization and angiography. In order to merit such distinction, each candidate must submit his application to the critical examination of his peers. The Credentials Committee will only act upon complete applications. To receive the membership certificate, successful candidates are required to attend the SCAI Scientific Sessions in May.

Fellows of SCAI may request advancement to this level when they meet the above requirements.
International Associate Member
International physicians are encouraged to apply to become a Member or Fellow of SCAI. Additionally, there is an alternative way for internationally-based physicians to begin their involvement with SCAI: International Associate Membership. This new membership category is a special invitation for international physicians to join their peers in SCAI at a lower dues rate. This category of membership is the direct result of partnerships between SCAI and various international interventional societies. The requirement for membership is simple -- verification of membership in an international interventional society. For a low dues rate -- just $100 annually -- International Associates enjoy many SCAI benefits, including the online (but not print) version of SCAI's journal and discounts on SCAI educational offerings. International Associates can subsequently apply for advancement to become Fellows of SCAI -- the sought-after distinction that allows physicians to add "FSCAI' to their credentials.
