The Turkish Society of Cardiology (TSC) is the nonprofit, nongovernmental organization of Turkish cardiologists, established in 1963. The Society's 1,898 members cover almost all academicians and practitioners of cardiology and the related specialists in Turkey. TSC is the most active medical professional society in the country and has been accredited by the state as "an institution working for public benefit" since 1980.
Recently the society united its Working Groups on Interventional Cardiology, Grown-up Congenital Heart Diseases and Peripheral Interventions to form the Turkish Society of Cardiology's Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (TAPCI). TAPCI is going to organize the annual 18th National Interventional Cardiology Meeting with Live Cases, on April 14-17, 2011.
TSC has been a member of ESC and WHF since 1964. It leads the Cardiology Societies of the Turkish-speaking countries to join the international organizations of cardiology. Turkic World Cardiology Association is going to hold its 7th Congress in Istanbul, Turkey, on October 21-24, 2010, in parallel with the 26th National Cardiology Congress of the TSC and the Global Interventional Summit-2010.
