The second course takes the interventional fellow into the catheterization laboratory. The lectures summarize the basic principles of radiation physics, safety required to practice in the contemporary catheterization laboratory, principles of vascular access-the choice of balloons and catheters-and the selection of contrast media. These lectures set the stage for subsequent modules. This course is ideal for interventional fellows and is an excellent adjunct for general cardiology fellows interested in interventional cardiology.
