In the Blink of an Eye-PAB: IPAB Repeal Bill Quickly Moves Forward
March 08, 2012
The House Energy and Commerce Committee acted quickly and in a bipartisan manner to pass the IPAB repeal bill (HR 452) on Tuesday. In a letter sent to the Committee on February 24, SCAI and it's Alliance of Specialty Medicine partners had urged the Committee to pass HR 452.
Introduced by U.S. Representative Phil Roe (R-TN), the bill would repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). SCAI has actively supported repeal of the IPAB because it would would have far too little accountability and the ability to make across-the-board Medicare cuts. The bill next moves to the Ways and Means Committee.
