    August 17, 2012

Over 300 interventional/invasive cardiologists, cath lab techs and nurses, and hospital administrators were treated to the unveiling of a new quality tool, during Wednesday's SCAI-QIT Webinar on the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization.

Presented by Stephen Bailey, MD, FSCAI and Manesh Patel, MD, FSCAI, the webinar focused on helping attendees to incorporate new appropriate use criteria for diagnostic cardiac catheterization into their quality improvement programs.

The program also featured the rollout of two new tools focused on enhancing communication between referring and performing physicians and the catheterization team, including coding professionals: the SCAI/ACCF Elective Right Heart Catheterization Data Collection Sheetand the SCAI/ACCF Elective Left Heart Catheterization and Coronary Angiography Data Collection Sheet.

It was the largest live audience yet for the webinar series, following up on record attendance at the previous webinar on the newly release Cath Lab Standards on May 31.
